LTU Scholarships 2020—A Proud Tradition

The 2020 scholarship award recipients are Ana Lopez (LVTI), Amanda Wilkins (LCHS) and Kevin Loza Montiel (LEHS).  Congratulations to all scholarship recipients and keep up the great work! 

In 2021 the LTU will again be awarding three $1,500 scholarships to seniors in the Lynn Public Schools who plan to continue their education.  Scholarships will be awarded based on the Labor History Exam.  Prospective students should consult with their guidance counselor, applications will be accepted until December 18, 2020, by 5:00 p.m. to be eligible to take the scholarship exam.  The deadline is firm and no registrations will be accepted after the December deadline.  The test will be given in January 25, 2021-February 5, 2021: Scholarship exam is administered at high schools across Massachusetts.  Schools will be assigned a timeframe to administer the exam. Students must check with their exam proctor for testng time and location.  Please review the following information.

Additional scholarships - Please note that several scholarships are available for dependents of AFT members.
   •    American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts (Scholarships - Every year AFT Massachusetts awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to eligible high school seniors who are dependents of AFT Massachusetts members. The awards, named in honor of former AFT leaders Kathy Kelley, Albert Shanker and Sandra Feldman, and for long-time AFT Massachusetts field representative Jay Porter, are awarded on the basis of a labor history exam administered by the Massachusetts AFL-CIO.  The application deadline is January 3, 2020.)
